Mar Vista Farmers’ Market is one of the best farmers’ markets in Los Angeles. Each Sunday the market features vendors selling fresh produce and other foodstuffs from across California. You can pick up grass-fed meat, freshly-caught seafood, and sustainably-raised chicken. There are also vendors offering flavorful ready-to-eat items such as falafels, tacos, dumplings, and much more. The Farmer’s Market also has free art and cooking classes for kids.
 

Things to Do

Mar Vista Park and Recreation Center is one of the Westside’s largest public greenspaces. The Recreation Center offers a wide range of kids’ sports leagues and art, crosstraining, dance, and music classes. The center’s many sports facilities include basketball, tennis, and volleyball courts, an outdoor hockey rink, a baseball diamond, and a multipurpose sports field. There’s also a children’s playground with sand and a heated outdoor swimming pool.
 
The Mar Vista Art Walk is held several times a year, with talented artists creating works along Venice Boulevard. You can also enjoy your own private art walk at any time by checking out the colorful murals painted along Venice Boulevard’s main drag.
